I know I have taken too much time away from this, but that is because finally i got some time to watch movies, so I wanted to write about them. Also, I knew I had to start off with my ‘Best of 2017’ series before it’s too late. Anyways, I am back with Part 3 of the AR Rahman series. (Part 1 and 2 here).
I know I’m a bit late to start off with the ‘best of’ posts. But I wanted to watch as many movies as I could before I started working on it. Even now, I haven’t seen many of last year’s films with strong heroine roles (Aramm, Secret Superstar, Maayanadhi etc). So this list is open to expansion. So here’s the list, in no particular order.
I have to say, Vidya Balan has one heck of a laugh. She has this uninhibited, open-throated, full-bellied laugh that makes you laugh both with her and at her. When other heroines try to make their laugh sound dignified and cute, Vidya’s laugh seems like it has bubbled up from within her. And the director Suresh Triveni has done a great job of tapping into this feature of hers.
My first review of 2018!!! As usual, exams had kept me busy all this while. But I’ll try to post more often for a while and make up for it. Anyways, I finally saw my first movie of 2018! And Thaana Serndha Koottam wasn’t a bad start at all!
Here I am, back with the second part of the A Rahman tribute! The first one was a collection of my favorite albums of his from his first five years in the industries. And now I’ll be picking up from where I left off.
I think I have mentioned this somewhere before. But I’m saying it again – I LOOOVE this man. No kidding. His songs have been a part of my life since as long as I remember, and I just love his music. On the occasion of his birthday, as well as him having completed 25 years of composing music, I thought I should do a tribute. But since I can’t contain 25 years of his awesomeness in one post – I’m breaking it into five parts. In this part I will trace his works from 1992 to 1997. Since I am not well-versed with the music of that period, I am not putting in albums which I am not familiar with. If you feel I’m missing something, please let me know!
And thus, another year comes to an end. Day before 2018 was born, and yesterday I turned 19. 2017 was such a happening year. Most of the other websites and movie blogs have begun to put up their ‘best and worst of 2017 lists’. Mine is coming up too, but before that a quick post of what 2017 taught me.
